Casting Director
Chris Freihofer has worked in the entertainment industry for over 25 years as an actor, theatre director, theatre producer, acting teacher and casting director. In early 2004 he launched Freihofer Casting and in a very short time, quickly became the leading casting director in the state of Oklahoma, considered the go-to casting office for feature film and larger regional and national commercials. His name is now synonymous with filming in Oklahoma.
He has several feature films, national and regional commercials and cable television credits on his resume. (Credits can be viewed by clicking the CREDITS tab above), and maintains loyal client relationships that use his services again and again.
His full-time, full-service studio in central Oklahoma (Norman) boasts the largest and most-accessible casting room in the state, seconds from I-35, is just 15 minutes from downtown Oklahoma City and 2 1/2 hours from Dallas.
He is skilled at principal casting and extras casting, and has experience hosting open calls for extras in several cities in the U.S., processing and logging as many as 1,200 people in one day.
Freihofer has years of experience in front of the camera, too. As a principal actor, has appeared in motion pictures with Academy Award-winning directors, network television on all three networks and national commercials, while being an active member of the Screen Actors Guild. For ten years Freihofer served as Artistic Director of Stone Soup Theatre, and for four years as Producing Artistic Director of Duty Free Productions, producing over 65 stage plays and directing dozens more.
Since 1996 he has taught acting and auditioning techniques privately, as well as guest lecturing in high schools and universities as well as film festivals and theatre conferences. He has long been associated with the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute, adjudicating auditions every year since 1996, and currently serves as the chair of the Theatre Advisory Panel.
 Kendall Haney Casting AssistantKendall joined the office in the summer of 2009, assisting in the casting of extras for the SAG feature film THE KILLER INSIDE ME, directed by Michael Winterbottom, starring Casey Affleck, Kate Hudson and Jessica Alba. When not manning the phones and computers in the casting office, she spent several days on set assisting the AD and wardrobe departments on heavy extras days. Since then, she has assisted in the casting for dozens of commercials, including nationals for American Clean Skies and regionals for Winstar Casino and more. She has also assisted in the casting of principals for the feature films YOU CAN'T WIN, TIME EXPIRED and HEAVENS RAIN. She is a film student with no interest in acting, which is a breath of fresh air in the office. And yes, she is older than she looks.  Sarah Clark Casting Assistant Sarah has worked in the casting office since the fall of 2009 and has assisted in the casting of several commercials for AAA, The U.S. Centers for Disease Control, the Oklahoma Lottery, Riverwind Casino, Winstar Casino, and projects in Chicago, Austin and Dallas. She also assisted in the casting of principals and extras for the SAG feature film HEAVEN'S RAIN and served as a casting assistant for the television series THE BIGGEST LOSER. Most importantly, though, she brought Freihofer Casting into the new decade by learning and implementing the software and hardware needed for the office to offer its clients the Direct Cast online casting system. Then, she patiently taught the Old Man how to use it (and is always available for panicky calls and texts from remote locations). She is an actor, a Cancer, and has been known to sport a Scottish brogue for no reason. |
